“True healing comes from facing and feeling our past traumas”
Sometimes it is not possible to face our traumas alone. Our psyche has instinctual tendency to develop defenses to maintain some sense of sanity and functionality. It allows outwardly to keep a front of calmness but in our inner life, the world is falling apart and we do not know where to crash. Perhaps on the bed under the blanket in the dark corner of our private room. Sometimes we need someone to hold us as we shatter into pieces gradually. This is where psychotherapy comes in which is a relationship between two persons, client and therapist. The therapist is fellow traveler in your journey, who creates a holding relationship where you as a client can open up about your suffering in inner life. where you can show your true self or atleast walk towards it. The therapist is there to support you in working through the obstacles and defenses that comes in the way.
